About the Kawasaki Z1 900 / Z-1 / KZ900
The Kawasaki Z1 900, also marketed as the Z-1, was introduced in 1972 as a 903cc four-cylinder superbike that redefined Japanese motorcycle performance. Produced from 1972 through 1975, it became famous for smooth power delivery, exceptional top speed, and reliability. The Z1 900 was updated to the KZ900 in 1976, before the KZ1000 replaced it in 1977. The Z1 900 laid the foundation for Kawasaki's legendary Z-series superbikes that remain in production to this day.
